He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Henry and Katie Mason Powell; his stepfather Wayne Richards; his siblings, Rex, Jack (Pete), Yvonne, Wayne and Marilyn; and his son Heath.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Collette; his children, Richy (Kristy) of Three Forks, MT, Kim Stephenson, Gary Powell of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Rob Powell (Deidre) of Idaho Falls, ID, Dylan Powell, Ashtyn Powell, Jayde, Traye Powell, Blair Powell (Lauralie) of Fairview, MO, Mandi Hoffman, Jaxon Powell, Cheridyn Powell, Payton Powell, Holly Jacobs (Chris) of Knoxville, TN, Regan Mains, Caitlin Kropschot, Haleigh Jacobs and Whitney Jacobs; his brother Jay Powell of Pocatello, ID; and his friend Matt Burden (Kelly). He is also survived by his children and their spouses, and grandchildren.
