He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Mathews and Perry Mathews; his former wife Karley Jean Wells of Great Falls; and his siblings, Perry, Ernie and Laura Brandt.

He is survived by: his close friend Connie Jean Smith; his wife Connie; his daughters, Becky Hart (Rik) and Andra Gasvoda (Scott); his stepdaughters, Holly Ross and Misty Ross; his grandchildren, Travis Gasvoda (Cassidy), Melissa Smithmyer (Ryan), Payton Barnhill, Randi Marie Hart, Mikayla Hart, Connor Goss, Karley Goss and Jake Barnhill; and his siblings, Merlin (Fay), Patty Ann Bliss, Carol Roehm (Dick), Myrtle Kinna (Bob) and Doris Hauf. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

He loved to donate corn to the Rescue Mission and Senior Citizens.
