He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Vance and Hope Vance; his wife Ramona Gonzalez; his son Mark; his grandchildren, Krissy and Tami; his children, Krissy and Tami (Hamper); his grandchildren, Caleb Vance, Kyle, Luke, Taylor, Mark, Jake and Taryn Hamper; his sister Mona Sandberg (Vern); and his son-in-law Kris Hamper. He was also cherished by his many friends along the way, his extended family of dear nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Dean to St Mary's Mission.

“Ramona, I’m so sorry for your loss. It has been nearly 25 years since I last saw Dean. I was working at Wagner’s furniture in Missoula when you came in shopping. Because my brothers grew up with Dean and I heard everything that went on with them back in the 50’s and 60’s Dean has always been a legend in my mind. My brother will be 80 this year and it is hard to believe these wild young men have turned in to old men. I am not far behind. Dee Stevens”
