He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Gertie; and his brother Phillip. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Kathie Sammons (Steve), Scott Gratton (Tina Inabnit), Becca West (Jim) and Cherilynne Gratton-Mastro; his grandchildren, Brianna Redfern (Eric), Shea Sammons, Nik Camis, Stevie-Leigh Haughian (Chase), Sam Gratton (Holly), Tori West, Zach Gratton, Jax Gratton, Dana Mastro, Delaney West, Maren Sammons and Mo Mastro; his great grandchildren, Ethan Redfern, Zoey Redfern, Blakely Rose Sammons and Leon Mastro; his sister Pat Chapman (Lee); and his nieces and nephews, David Chapman (Gina), Lee Chapman (Jaylin), Tom Chapman (Kathy), Brent Chapman (Naya), Kristie Witt and Lynne Chapman (Marty).
