He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Susan Hewankorn Blixt; his brother Vernon Finley; his children, Susan Finley, Barbara Finley, Jennifer Morigeau, Alisha Ortlandt, Jason Finley, Calvin Ortlandt and Matt Howard; his sisters, Naida Lefthand and Sonia Chippewa; his parents-in-law, Pierre Malatare, Paul Malatare, Harriet Malatare and Carolyn MadPlume; and the mother of his children Dianna Andrews (Robert). He was also cherished by his grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews.
