He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Gettel and Regina Gettel; and his sisters, Emily Dixon and Esther Poor. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Johnson; his sister Dorothy Naumann; his children, Diane Asmus (Duane), David (Patti), Steve (Mary) and Roger (Jayne); and his grandchildren, Erin Bucher (Stacy), Lynsie Gettel, Nathan Asmus (Elycia), Josh Asmus (Candace), Rose Herman (Justin), Clayton Gettel, Grace Gettel, Chelsea Oakes (Tannur), Calvin Gettel (Carly) and Rudy Gettel. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Arnie's honor may be made to Zion Lutheran Church; the ALS Association; or the donor's choice.
