We are sad to announce that on February 1, 2025, at the age of 16, Malaia Maree James (Poplar, Montana), born in Williston, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her parents, Alexx Eagleman-James and Matthew James; her brothers, Taran, Wasé James and Ivan Ironcloud; her grandparents, Frances "Cookie" Bighorn, Cheryl Eagleman-Rodrigues (Israel), Karen Cain (Craig), David James and Cissy Eagleman; her aunts, Breanne Cantrell (Austin), Demiree Whitehead (Jay), Jori Russell and Coleen Cain; her uncle Marshall Cain (family: Quincy Eagleman); and her cousins, Kaeleigh Cain, Chasidy, Aroyal Russell-Eagleman and Desmond Whitehead. She is also survived by her family, friends.
A wake was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Poplar Cultural Center (702 Court Ave, Poplar, MT 59255). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Chelsea Cemetery.
