He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norman Schmidt and Betty Schmidt (Jensen); his close friend Lydia Johnson of Plentywood; his daughter Serena Schmidt; his grandchild Ryan Eugene Ignacio of San Diego; his daughters, Elizabeth Schmidt of Watford City and Angela Schmidt of Missoula; his siblings, Vicky Hjelm (Brock) of Plentywood, Wayde Schmidt (Ann) of Plentywood, Corey Schmidt (Sheila) of Billings and Deann Horning (Paul) of Montana City; his nieces and nephews, Chris, Jennifer, Connor, Carl, Tony, Daniel, Lindsey, Justin, Ryan Ubben (Nellie) and Casey (Emily); and also Jan Hollenbeck. He was also cherished by his brothers often played pranks on their mother, and his sisters.
