He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hackmann and Emma Hackmann (Tyler); his siblings, Leland, Vernon, Robert and Carol Fester; and his brother-in-law Eddy Nelson.
He is survived by: his former wife Arlene Haddix; his siblings, Ernest Hackmann (Mary), Lilly Mae Nelson (Bill), Clarice Knutson (John), Marie Messom and Judy Nelson; and his stepchildren, John Haddix (Jerry), Doris Fogerty (Chuck), Sandy Cooper (Brian) and George Haddix. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
