He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Wirtz and Fred Wirtz; and his brothers, Arnold Wirtz, Lewis Wirtz and Melvin Wirtz.
He is survived by: his wife Grace Cybulski; his children, Carol Wirtz, Linda Ruegsegger (Bill) and Greg Wirtz (Denise); his grandchildren, Greg Ruegsegger (Hannah), Natalie Ruegsegger, Austin Wirtz and Reese Wirtz; his siblings, Isabelle Bedwell, Ed Wirtz (Rhee) and JoAnn Wirtz; and his sister-in-law Kathy Wirtz. He is also survived by several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
