He is survived by: his wife Beverley Peterson Backus; his sons, Perry Backus (Audrey) of Stevensville, MT and Tim Backus (Laura) of Missoula, MT; his grandchildren, Luke Backus, Jessi Tackaberry, Caleb Backus, Alyse Sharpe and Jake Backus; his great grandchildren, Tucker, Henry, Owen and Tallulah; and his daughter-in-law Kim Backus.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery (934 Sweetwater Rd, Dillon, MT 59725).
