He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Brien and Joy Brien (Rather); his son Tracy Brien; and his siblings, Iva, Ramona, Shirley, Larry and Bernard.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnette McCabe (Brad), Brenda Christensen (JC), Pam Strandlund of Topeka, KS, Sheila Devor (Bruce) of Towanda, KS, Gary Brien Jr. and Shawn Brien of Munich, ND.; and his sister Sheila Krug (Gary) of Topeka, KS.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
