He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Rafter and Dee Rafter; his siblings-in-law, Mary Helen Bakken and Clark Zastrow; and his grandson Adam Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Laura of Bozeman; his children, Karen, Barnhardt of Bozeman, Laurie Bellew (Billy) of Atlanta, GA, Allison Chesnut (Mike) of Belgrade, Kristine Peterson (Mike) of Belgrade and Rob Shackleford (Jennifer) of Manhattan; his brother Robert Irving Bakken of Havre; his siblings-in-law, Garry Rafter (Sherri) of Helena, Mary Zastrow of Trego and Bill Rafter (Barbara) of Spokane, WA; his child Ave; and also, Ardin Beck of Post Falls, ID and Sandra Oliver. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
