He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Herbert and Kamellia Hildora Stone (Olsen); his son Wayne; his sister Bertha Mina Micou; and his brother-in-law Ross Held.

He is survived by: his wife Sherri Benda; and his sisters, Doris Inez Held and Alice Mae Buck (Richard).

Viewing was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Benton Funeral Home (1201 Front St, Fort Benton, MT 59442). A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Riverside Cemetery (747 Cemetery Rd, Fort Benton, MT 59442).

“It wasn’t that long ago I saw Art and visited and laughed with him on the way to the GF Airport when he graciously agreed to drive my mom back home. This was after he baked some of his famous Apple turnovers that I devoured. He was the kindest, most gentle and humble man. He was part of our family that we all hold dear. He was a man that showed up for people and asked for nothing in return. Sending my condolences to all of his people he loved. We will miss and remember him.”
