He is survived by: his friend Margot Kidder; his sisters, Anne Visser Ney (Peter) and Janet Visser Preston; his stepsiblings, Holly Taylor Cutting (Jim) and Michael Stanley; his nieces and nephews, Joseph Preston (Suzanne), JB Visser, Peyton Visser, Katrina and Marina Riegel; and his great-niece Juniper Preston.
