He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Sherman Heckles and Mary Johanne Grimsrud Heckles; his former spouse Katy Smith; his wife Wendy Heckles of Livingston; his daughters, Sarah Heckles (Scott Berggren) of Taichung and Tatiana Heckles (Joe Catron) of Cheju Island; his stepdaughter Shawnee Strasko; his stepgrandchildren, Samuel and Kieran of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.; and his brothers, Tom, Jim of Pennsylvania and Paul of Maryland. He was also cherished by his sisters in law and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
