Ella Monroe Duffy Obituary
Ella Monroe Duffy was born on July 8th, 2009, in Livingston, Montana, to Justin and Emily Duffy.
Ella lived life fully, whether in happiness, sadness, or silliness. She injected a profound reminder into our souls to feel each moment. She was effortlessly herself: unique and kind, with a gentle spirit and charming quick wit. Ella took fashion cues from no one and could often be found not to be wearing socks during the winter months. She excelled at leaving her chewed bubble gum on the corner of her nightstand, grocery shopping for the best deal, and making killer TikToks with her big sister, Alivia, but her real passion was running hound dogs, especially her dog, Fridley. Ella and Fridley won the High Point Dog award at the MSHA Spring Field Trail when Fridley was only 11 months old. Ella was the kind of person who was a flower girl one weekend and a runner of hounds with her dad the next; indeed, she was one of a kind.
Above all else, she was deeply loved by her family and those lucky enough to be “her people.”
The same beautiful, loving heart that opened to the world is now beating life into another. When our grief is too great to carry, we hold onto each other, and through this, Ella’s love lives on.
Ella was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James R. Duffy, and she is survived by a world of people who meant the world to her.
A private burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 29th, at The Jardine Cemetery. A public celebration of Ella’s life will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29th, at 54 Strawberry Creek Road in Paradise Valley.
