He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling Hayes and Mary Hayes (Panchot); and his siblings, Sterling Jr., Pat Hayes and Carolyn Andrews.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Hayes; his brother Greg Hayes; and his children, Tracy McGavin, Lori Carey, Mark Hayes and Trisha Ettestad.
