He was predeceased by: his wife Marian; and his siblings, Joan Croucher of Teola Hazen, Paul Applegate, Joe Applegate, Ed Applegate and Gene Applegate.

He is survived by: his children, Thomas Applegate of North Bend, WA and Shala White of Libby; his sisters, Mary Johnson, Phyllis Hansberry and Linda Arnold; his grandchild Kayla Friss of Brook Simmons; and his great grandchildren, David Friss, Logan Friss and Daniel Simmons.
