She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Leslie and Jean Leslie (Duguid); her son Donald Mark "Chip"; her husband Bill Degner; and her brother Jim.
She is survived by: her uncle Sandy; her children, Bill (Zelma), James Edward (Deb), Michael John, Sandra Marie, W. Russell Degner, Mike Degner (Mel), Nancy Jares (Jim) and Sandy Crusch (Curt); and her grandchildren, Stephanie Briggs, Connie Degner, Steven Degner (Laramey), Cassie Eaton (Seth), Nicole Newell (John), Jamie Moody (Ryan), Mariah Schimke (Bryce), Tyler Crusch, Karen Lister (Ben) and Quade Degner. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
Memorials in Zelma's name may be made to the Grass Range Foundation or the Grass Range Methodist Church.
