He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ryder Shields; his daughters, Ruth Ann Shields Cline (Shane) and Jackie Shields (Anthony Raue); his sister Rosemary Shields Welter; his siblings-in-law, Ann Johnson and Jerry Ryder (Margaret); and his grandchildren, Brett, Jade, Shaila, Shersteen, Kylie, Dylan, Jaylyn, Tyler and Zoey. He is also survived by his many great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
