He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Shammel and Elsie Shammel (Jenni); his wife Billie Shammel; his daughter-in-law Carol Shammel; and his siblings, Maurice Shammel and Marion Porter.
He is survived by: his son Gary Shammel of Portland, OR; his stepgrandson Fred Littke; his daughter Ashley; his grandchildren, Kaden, Rosie of Portland, Deacon Shammel of Portland and Robert Shammel (Christiene); his great grandchildren, Nathan and Tiffany of Port Orchard, WA; his sisters, Helen Bakker and Jeanette Moran; and his sisters-in-law, Holly Cox, Betty Watson and Patty Thiel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
