Walter Marshall Grey Jr Obituary
Walter Grey (Frog) of Kalispell Montana passed away at the age of 79, on March 10, 2023.
Walter Marshall Grey Jr was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania on March 13th, 1943. He was one of nine siblings to be born to Virginia Grey and Walter Marshall Grey. He enjoyed adventuring the hills of Pennsylvania as a child and hunting different animals to feed his family. At the age of 14-15 in 9th grade, Walter quit school and worked to support his other siblings and his mother.
He relocated to Montana in the 70s and resided in Olney Montana on his way to actually reside in Alaska where he has dreamed of living. His exact words were, “I was on my way to Alaska but I stopped in Montana there in Kalispell and made it up to Olney and decided to live there.” Walter rode all over the mountains of Olney on his trusty horse Smokey for many years. He worked for Bills Towing for many years helping retrieve many cars that would go over the side of the mountain in Glacier Park.
Walter loved riding Harleys and working on them, riding horses, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking. He especially loved visiting Havre, Malta, or Saco over east of the mountains to hunt antelope. He enjoyed taking road trips and stopping at many attractions like ghost towns, museums and places with history ranging from Montana to Pennsylvania like 1880 Town in South Dakota, Wall Drug in South Dakota, Devils Tower, The Under Sea Gardens in Oregon, etc.
He specialized in auto body work in various shops in Pennsylvania and in Montana. He enjoyed time with his friends having great conversations eating lunch at Cisco’s, Scotty’s, or the Nugget in Kalispell. He had beloved friends who cared for him an who have many memories to have Walter live on in their hearts.
He could always make you laugh and he was a great jokester. He had a great sense of humor and was a caring father and grand father.
Walter has three children; Marshall Grey (Bosley), Zane Grey, Corie Grey (Russell). He has five grand children; Shannon Grey, Colt Grey, Braiden Grey, Isabelle Russell, and Haisley Piert.
