He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Daniel and Ella Murphy; his wife Jean Murphy; his brother Patrick Murphy; and the mother of his children Diana DuMontier.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Cox (Jim) and Dan Murphy (Rebecca); and his sister Marge Johns. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
