He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene (Rost) and Tom Ferrel; and his siblings, Larry Ferrel and Myrna Obert. He is survived by: his wife Marlene (Gregerson); his daughters, Brigitte Schultz (Gerry) of Kalispell, MT and Stephanie Herbst (Brandon) of Queen Creek, AZ.; his grandchildren, Andrew, Anna, Thomas Schultz, Joshua Herbst and Eli Ferrel; his siblings, Cheri Ziebart (Bruce) of Deadwood, SD, Kim Ferrel-Keehn of Deadwood, SD, Darla Sherman (Jon) of Goodyear, AZ and Shane McDonnell of Red Lodge, MT.; and his stepsisters, Sharon Zwinger, Judy Schmidt and Lin Nicholson.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a limited graveside service will be held at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's name would be appreciated to the Black Hills Chapter of the American Legion Riders, Spearfish, SD 57783 or the American Legion Post #35, Baker, MT 59313.
