It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James F. Christnacht of Helena, Montana, born in Tacoma, Washington, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Christnacht and Kathleen Christnacht (Walsh); his brother George; and his brothers-in-law, Pat Maloney and Joe Casale Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Joann Virginia Casale; his sister Mary Anne Maloney; his sister-in-law Joan Christnacht; and his children, Robert Christnacht (Kristen), Tom Christnacht (Janet), Carol Christnacht (Brad Smith), Peter Christnacht (Teresa) and Paul Christnacht (Teri). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Community Church (1700 Missoula Ave, Helena, MT 59601). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at the Resurrection Cemetery (3685 N Montana Ave, Helena, MT 59602).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Saint Mary's Catholic Church or the Helena Kiwanis Club Foundation.
