He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Thackeray and Lena Thackeray; and his brothers, Leonard (Thurza), John (Fern) and Fred Thackeray (Gladys).
He is survived by: his sons, Herbert of Bozeman and Scott (Kathee) of Havre; his wife Betty Trumpp of Clay Center, KS.; his daughter Joyce Hewitt (Tom) of Summerdale, AL; his grandchildren, Hannah and Matthew Kalthoff; his brother Webster Thackeray of Sidney; his granddaughter Natalie Hill; and his great grandchild Theodore Hill. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to Van Orsdel United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
