He was predeceased by: his father Roger Benson; his grandparents, George, Georgina Blanchard, Clarence and Mid Benson; his aunt Kay Brooks; his father-in-law Ransom Holden; and his brother-in-law John Holden.
He is survived by: his mother Leila Benson; his children, Sarah Benson (Dahl) and Joel Benson; his wife Bonnie Benson (Holden); his children-in-law, Marc Dahl and Marquel Benson; his siblings, Ken Benson and Bev Meagher; and his grandchildren, Elias, Ruby Dahl, Eziekel, Lucy and Owen Benson. He is also survived by in-laws, and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
