He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Hecker and Lillian Hecker (Peterson); his sister Pat Teschner; his siblings-in-law, Marie Church, Joann Schwanz, Larry Eaton, Marvin Manske, Arnold Moum and Dale Moum; and his wife Alison Moum of Havre.
He is survived by: his sons, Laef (Shannon) of Southaven, MS and Eric (Sissy) of Grand Junction, CO; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Beth), Lance (Danica), Delaney, Allen and Abby; his stepgrandchildren, Destiny, Doran, Sierra and LJ; his great grandchildren, Reatha and Laef Remy; his siblings, Nancy Manske, Caroll Eaton and David Hecker; and his nieces, LeeAnn Dunn (Chris), Stacie Brown (Spencer) and Sarah Vetter. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John's family has suggested memorial donations be made to Havre Senior Center or First Lutheran Church.
