It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Priscilla Gile (Hamilton, Montana), born in Houlton, Maine, who passed away at the age of 77, on April 16, 2018. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Sidda" to her siblings, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday April 16th, in her home at 902 Honeyhouse Lane, Corvallis. She was born October 17th, 1940, in Houlton, Maine to Llewellyn and Frances Scott. Priscilla was the oldest of 6 children. She studied teaching at Plymouth College in New Hampshire and married on July 1, 1961, to Albert Gile, Jr. or "Buddy" to family and friends, sharing 57 years of marriage. Priscilla worked as head of medical records at Frisbee Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH, and later, after moving to Montana in 1972, worked in medical records at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, MT. In 1977 she went to work as Secretary and co-owner of Towne & Country Realty and retired after 35 years. She came out of retirement to go into partnership with her daughter in 2002, opening a mortgage company where she worked for 16 years until her death. Priscilla loved fishing on the ocean in Canada with Albert and spent years of summers fishing the waters around Vancouver Island. She loved her children and along with Albert spent many years skiing the slopes all over Montana and hiking the many trails of the Bitterroot. For many years they traveled the Oregon and Washington coasts with good friends until they found their favorite spot on the inland passage of Vancouver Island catching salmon, halibut and fresh crab. She was and always will be a devoted grandmother and had a special place in her heart for all of them. She especially loved the weekends when all of them came over and spent the night, often bringing their friends with them. She loved being involved in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and enjoyed all of the ladies she met and became lifelong friends with. The feeling was mutual as she was voted Sorority Queen by her sisters for many years because they loved her so. She was preceded in death by her parents Llewellyn and Frances Scott, and two brothers Nathan Scott and Eric Scott. Survivors include her sister, Patricia Eimer and husband Howard Eimer; brother, Galen Scott and wife Tandy; and brother, Kevin Scott and wife Rocky; Husband, Albert Gile Jr; sons, A. Gregory Gile, Cary M. Gile; daughter, Glenda F. Sweitzer, son-in-law, Mark D. Sweitzer; daughters-in-law, Julie Deathridge, Robin Bolin and Vicky Krosch; grandchildren, Matthew Gile, Morgan Gile, Nicholas Sweitzer, Cameron Gile, Natalie Krosch, Kimberlee Bray and family; great grandchildren, Kaya Gile and Annaston Bray; 14 nieces and nephews. She loved people, loved laughter and had an extremely beautiful gift of putting others at ease. Quick witted and funny it is no surprise that everyone who came in contact with her fell in love with her. She was small in stature and big on personality and will be missed by all who knew her. She will be loved into eternity. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations/gifts toward funeral costs be sent to the family at Towne & Country Mortgage, 811 S. 1st St, Hamilton, MT 59840. A celebration of her life is planned for April 28th at Noon at Cowboy Troys in Victor. Potluck questions should be directed to Penny at 406-375-2406.
