He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Truitt and Texie Truitt; his wife Connie; his daughter Vickie Russel; and his grandchildren, Katie Salas, Patrick Schatz and Charlie Schatz.

He is survived by: his former wife Constance Mary Rusk of Blackforest Colorado; and his children, Barbara Aarstad (Ted), Kathryn Knopp (Ken), Glinda Schatz, Dale Truett (Sue), Robert Truett (Tami) and Bruce Truett (Amy). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
