She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Clarence Abernathy Jr.; her son Charles Clarence Abernathy, III (Chip); her parents, Walter Sidney Thisted and Auline Nichols Thisted; and her brothers, Walter and Andy Thisted.
She is survived by: her sister Karin Whitehead (Charles); her children, John Abernathy (Shannon), Jennifer Grillo (Randy) and Becky McKenna (Doug); her grandchildren, Natalie Abernathy, Violet Abernathy, Kylie Grillo, Henry Grillo, Will Grillo, Blake McKenna (Sara), Chad McKenna (Hilary), Elise McKenna and Zach McKenna; and her great grandchildren, Ava, Charlie and Jack McKenna.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the C.M. Russell Museum; P.E.O.; First Presbyterian Church; or a charity of your choice.
