He was predeceased by: his former wife Carol; his parents, Jacob Reiss (Luzia) and Francis Messer; and his daughter Wendy Reiss. He is survived by: his children, Danny, Dan Reiss (Lisa) of Butte and Brenda Nader (Gene) of Great Falls; his grandchildren, Kameron Pendleton of Washington, Kira Nader (Jake) of Great Falls, Chase Nader of Great Falls and Lane Reiss of Helena; and his siblings, Ludwick Orth (Brenda) of North Carolina and Fred Orth of Idaho. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
