He was predeceased by: his sons, Mark Emett Burgess and Mack Emett Burgess II; his brother Galen Burgess; his sisters-in-law, Lois Stewart Burgess and Nancy Carr Burgess; and his grandchildren, Marc Jacob Burgess and Nicole Jean Linn.
He is survived by: his daughter Norma Jean Marr; his wife Norma Jean; his children, Denice Mills (Bruce) of Great Falls, Nanette Hjelm (Bill) of Heber, Renae Linn (Rick) of Coeur, Stan Burgess (Jamie) of Nome and Merlin Middlerider of Heart Butte, Montana.; and his brothers, Fenton Burgess (Indra) of Ogden and Theron (Barbara) of Corvallis, Oregon. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
