With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gene Shumaker of Great Falls, Montana, born in Glasgow, Montana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Gene may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edwin Shumaker and Merle Rosalie Goodrich (Shumaker); his sister Patricia Leigh Holtz (Shumaker); and his brother-in-law Don Francis Holtz. He is survived by: his brother Jerry Duane Shumaker; his children, Rebecca Jean Workman, Duane Patrick Shumaker and Ivan Langdon Shumaker; his wife Kathy Dianne Shumaker; and his sister-in-law Dianne Lynn Shumaker. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and too many other loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Boy's and Girl's Club of Cascade County.
