He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle MacKenzie and Mary Ella MacKenzie; his sister Leta Rae Kelsey; and his nephew Michael Kelsey. He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Vaught-Gray and Cynthia Whitaker. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
