He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl E. Richards and Olive Richards; his son Dennis; his wife Lorraine Richards; and his siblings, Arlene Wilson and Elwood.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Richards, Lynn West (Dave), Sandra Latka (Russell), Judy Reed (Jess) and Steven Kaste (Jeannie); his siblings, Marjorie Savoy (George), Wilber Richards and Lyle Richards (Lois); and his nephew Phillip Richards. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Great Falls Peace Hospice.
