He was predeceased by: his father Dick O'Day Ranch; his stepmother Margaret Urton (Nygaard); and his brother Jerry (Marlene). He is survived by: his children, Sonja Hagmeyer (David), Norleen Miller (Jeff) and Ted Urton (Trudy); his stepdaughters, Marla Messer and Debbie Ciganik (Glen); and his brothers, Merle (Bonnie), Dean (Linda), Robert and Lloyd.
