He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Nielsen and Delima Nielsen (Monette); and his siblings, Don, Lee, Bob and Janice.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Ann Vorhies; his stepsons, Mark and David; his sister Betty Evans of Billings; his brother-in-law Delbert Vorhies (Betty) of Glendive; his children, Edwin Nielsen (Carol) of Lindsay and Debra Bales (Carson); his grandchildren, Colton, Caitlin of Wasilla and Mark Nielsen (Shirley); his great grandchildren, Kobey and Kimberly; and also, Olivia, Brecken of Laurel and David Nielsen (Donna) of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
