He was predeceased by: his parents, John Knoll and Appolonia Knoll (Schollser); his brothers, Ralph, Leo, John and Emil; and his grandchildren, Todd and Mariah.
He is survived by: his brother Johnny; his wife Isabelle "Izzy" Miller; his children, Patrick and JoJo Hagen (Wes) of Glendive; his grandchildren, MacKenzie of Miles City, Chase of Glendive and Cade of Glendive; his great grandchildren, Hadleigh and Carter of Miles City; and his brothers-in-law, Don Doane of Glendive and Gerald Doane (Ann) of Glendive. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
