He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Eugene and Marjorie Evelyn Coon (Sandaker); his brothers, Jimmy Coon and Terry Coon; and his grandson-in-law Kirk Jordan.

He is survived by: his wife Becky of Glendive; his son Ron (Gail) of Rock Springs; his grandchildren, Misty Jordan and Tanner Coon (Krista Welborn); his daughter Donnetta Schaaf (Brian) of Glendive; his grandchildren, Justin Schaaf (Kayleigh) and Jesse Schaaf (Morgan); his son BJ; his grandchildren, Kaylee Coon (Trenten Evins), Camri and Ashlee Coon; and his sisters, Linda Sibley of Nashua and Judy Nordwick (Brant) of Shoshoni. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to the Evangelical Church or the charity of one's choice.

“I am sorry that I didn't get to see Larry in recent years. I always intended to call him when I passed through Glendive, but never got around to doing it. When we were kids I would often see him in Winnett or at Elsie and Earl's ranch on Sarpy Creek. His dad, Lee, and my dad Albert Adams were first cousins.”
