He was predeceased by: his parents, John Samuel and Mary Jane Rathbun (Byer); his son Steve; his wife Helen; his sons, Jon and Jan; and his siblings, William, James, Charles, Thomas, Dennis, Mellisa, Meryl, Vivian and Kristee.
He is survived by: his brother Jon; his children, John, Janie Rathbun of Beach, ND and Mary Lee (Michael); his granddaughters, Eryn Rule (Thad) of Glendive, Amy Lee of Glendive, Karlee Waddington (Will) of Hysham, MT and Ellen Rathbun of Billings, MT; and his great grandchildren, Colin Rule, Sawyer Rule and Ian Waddington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glendive Medical Center Hospice program or the Glendive Community Cancer Fund.
