She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Schaffel and Evelyn Schaffel (Heitz); and her husband Wes Toepke. She is survived by: her son Eric Knudson of Glendive; her brother Jim Schaffel (Louise) of Billings, Montana; her niece Lisa Ballew (Ben) of Billings; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cooper, Colby and Stephanie Schaffel of Seattle, Washington; and her grandchildren, Mikal, Kendel and Kennedi Wilkerson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Deb's name are suggested to any cause that benefits Glendive.
