He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparents, Katherine, Adam Zinn, Bernice and Walter Nivens; his brothers, Lee Nivens, Roy Nivens and Wesley Gorman; his father George Lee Nivens; his sister-in-law Joann Nivens; his wife Lori Nivens (French) of Malta; his daughters, Lisa Yanny of Helena, Georgeena Ione Nivens of Havre and Echo Kay Dean (Bryce) of Alexander; his grandchildren, Liberty Le of Helena, Thaison Le (Kimberly) of Havre, Sierra Yanny of Bozeman, Phoenix Nivens (Rocio) of Pearland, Mykhia Cole of Helena, Andreena Jo Bock of Alder, Tirzah Ione, James Austin and Cora Elizabeth Dean of Alexander; his mother Athelia Nivens (Dilly) of Big Sandy; and his siblings, Dennis Nivens (Toni) of Great Falls, Ron Nivens, Randy Nivens of Big Sandy, Monica Halbert (Jack) of Malta, Tammy Houle (Jim) of Big Sandy and Donna Roswell (Bob) of Rock Springs. He was also cherished by 6 great grandchildren.
