It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Charles Kerns of Deer Lodge, Montana, born in Butte, Montana, who passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Louis and Marian Frances Kerns (Carver); his son Jay Christopher Kerns; his sister Helen Marie Ayers; and his parents-in-law, Agnes Patricia (Monahan) and William Henry "Bill" Stanaway.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Kerns of Douglas; his daughters, Montana, Jerri Kerns of Dayton and Jamie Kerns of Douglas; his brothers, Mike Kerns (Mary Ann) of Butte and Tod Kerns (Nellie) of Moose Lake, Washington; his grandchildren, Ryley Lambeth, Sydney Lambeth, Wyatt Lambeth and Gracyn Kerns; and his siblings-in-law, Tim Stanaway (Marie) of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Sister Selina Stanaway of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephew; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
