He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Brownell and Viola Brownell. He is survived by: his friend John Clark; his wife Carol; his children, Justin (Mona DeBoo) of Pendroy and Rachel Christensen (Fred) of Choteau; his grandchildren, Derek Brownell, Tessa Brownell and Addison Christensen; his siblings, Larry Brownell, Kathleen Woeppel and David Brownell; and his aunt Mary Ellen Brownell. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Pendroy Fire and Rescue unit.
