He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Frances and John William Gilbert; his siblings, J. W. Gilbert, Shara Gilbert, Frances Gilbert, Elda Lee Finch and Shirley Reagan; and his sons, Edward Jarden Gilbert and Carl Dean Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Joanne Gilbert, Mark Gilbert (Nancy) and David Gilbert; his grandchildren, Jennifer Way (Mike), Courtney Hanson (Andrew) and Nicholas Gilbert; his great grandchildren, Abby Oswald, Isabella, Haylee Wenzl, Russell, Grant and Drew Hanson; and his siblings, Harvey Gilbert and Nadean Houghton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Alzheimer's took Jarden from us years ago, Jean became more suspicious that something was up when Jarden started repairing and replacing things around the house that weren't broken.
