He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Scalese and Dell Hales Scalese; his wife Ambjorg Jeppesen Scalese; his daughter Karen Sloan; his siblings, Frank, Thomas and Teresa Ward; and his nieces and nephews, Wesley Jeppesen, Wally Meissner, Joseph Ward, Sally Evans, Lenora Smith, Ardyce Jensen and Karen Forseth.
He is survived by: his sons, Harold "Sonny" Scalese (Karen) and Steven Scalese; his grandchildren, Larry Scalese (Beth), Linda Keller (Rod), Michael Hales Sloan, K'Lynn Harris (Zach), Michael Claxton (Arlin) and Sonya Claxton; his great grandchildren, Jordan Keller (Chelsea), Cody Keller, Allison Scalese, Tyler Scalese, Bree Skinner (Chris), Tom Maney, Heron of Montana, Willam Hales, Katherine, Amelia Harris, Malina and Amari Claxton; and his great great grandchildren, Trevon, Kaiden Benson, Dylan, Brayden Keller, Ryker, River Hales Keller and Tofer Skinner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born in the midst of the last once-in-a-century pandemic (Influenza) and survived the next once-in-century pandemic (COVID.).
