He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Taylor and Gladys Taylor (Hartsock); and his siblings, Robert, Jack Taylor and Beverly Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Mary John Taylor of Harlem; his children, James "Scott" Taylor of Harlem and Audrey Rae Taylor of Harlem; his grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua (Sarah), Thyme, Franki, Kendra Taylor, Carrigan Cummings (Dale), Emma, Curtis and Michael Anne Humphreys; his great grandchild Scarlett Cummings; and his siblings, Andrea Holcomb (Ken), Valli Hume (Wally), Sally Taylor, Judy Clark and Paul Taylor (Wynema). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
