He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Shettel and Alva Shettel; and his siblings, Doris Couturier, John, Franklin and Jerry.

He is survived by: his siblings, Frances Hawks, Dorothy Forester (Rudy) and Jim Shettel (Dolores).
